Workshop: Seeing Poems in Art - Writing Ekphrastic Poetry

Ekphrastic poetry is now being widely written around the world. This workshop, primarily designed for poets who are looking to incorporate ekphrastic poetry into their poetic practice, explores ways in which poets may benefit from connecting their poetry to other artforms. Paul and Cassandra will consider various existing ekphrastic works, including famous examples, and focus on practical ways of creating successful ekphrastic poems, including harnessing visual imagery and new ways of ‘seeing’. A list of journals and other avenues for the publication of ekphrastic poetry will be provided.
