VOLTA 27 MAY features Mike Russell, Sean West and Mitch Cave. This event will be held in-person at the Brisbane Square Library.

Mike Russell is a non-verbal communicating poet and workshop facilitator with autism and PTSD. He is the leader of Brotherhood of the Wordless, a talented group of likeminded individuals with similar conditions. Mike likes to write and slam his poetry across Meanjin, Australia.

Sean West is a Meanjin-based poet, disability support worker, and workshop facilitator. He was runner-up in the SCWC 2022 Poetry Award, received an Arts Queensland Individuals Fund grant in 2021, and was shortlisted for the Thomas Shapcott Poetry Prize in 2021, 2020, and 2019. He is the founding editor of Blue Bottle Journal. Find him at www.callmemariah.com.

Mitch Cave grew up in Noosa Heads, Queensland, and is currently based in Brisbane. His work has appeared in literary journals nationally, as well as internationally. His debut poetry collection ‘How to Eat Fire and Why’ is forthcoming with Rabbit. He works in the disability sector.
