PERFORMERS

Rory Hawkins is an English/Irish-grown & Meanjin/Brisbane-based student in his third year, who aspires to work in editing and publishing so he can tell other people how to write better than him. He is currently a co-president of QUT Literary Salon, and an editor for ScratchThat magazine. In 2022, Rory shortlisted for the Allen & Unwin prize. You can read his prose works in QUT’s Glass magazine, prose and poetry in ScratchThat magazine, and read aloud with QUT Lit Salon.

Laura Bibby writes poetry and stories that weave her love of nature with the strange, fantastical, and ominous. Her work has found homes in Nymphs, Moss Puppy Magazine and Selenite Press, among others, and her debut poetry chapbook A KNIFE IN THE DARK was published by Bottlecap Press in 2022.

My name is Haytham Harbus (formerly Elijah Manis), I am a 19-year-old Indigenous poet from Brisbane and the Torres Strait. Poetry has been my freedom since 13 years old writing through struggles, pain, and suffering. I am inspired to write by three artists including Tracy Chapman, Eminem and 2PAC. I have been recognised as an activist and artist being awarded the National NAIDOC Youth Award for 2022.
